<p>In a process to reduce atmospheric emissions from farm animal housing sheds, the effluent air is washed by a washer unit (24). The washing agent is a nitrified and/or de-nitrified thin slurry fraction. A thin slurry fraction is sprayed into effluent air (26) which then passes through a filter bed and/or a packing body formed by a granular mass, evaporating part of the washing fluid. The evaporated component is discharged from the washer (24) together with the filtered air (28). The dilute slurry washing fluid is held at readiness in a container (22). An independent claim is included for a washer assembly for use in the above process.</p> |
