PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save data to be used in computer processing even if power supply is turned off while suspending transactions at terminals in inquiry-type on-line transaction. SOLUTION: An automatic batch later-sending processing apparatus is installed at a terminal 20 that is connected with a host computer 50 through a network 40. The apparatus sets or releases an off-line mode, which indicates whether or not the terminal 20 can perform on-line transactions, by updating a declaration mode stored in an internal storage part of the terminal 20. According to the updated declaration mode, the apparatus determines whether to transmit or store an electronic message that indicates an inquiry request for on-line transactions to the host computer or into an external storage medium 30 connected with the terminal. Subsequently, the electronic message, which indicates an inquiry request, stored in the external recording medium 30 is automatically transmitted later to the host computer 50.
