PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inkjet recorder and a method for detecting non-ejection of a recording head nozzle, by which an ink ejection state can be checked without using a recording medium. SOLUTION: A pattern for detecting the ejection state of nozzles 26 is formed on a pattern belt 28 through opening parts 38, thereby eliminating the need of recording paper P to form the pattern. A carrying belt 20 can be reinforced by providing beam parts 46 which mutually bridge the long sides of the opening parts 38 formed to the carrying belt 20. The beam parts 46 are tilted in the carrying direction of the recording paper P to move the carrying belt 20 and the position of the nozzles 26 facing the beam parts 46 is changed to eject ink, thereby enabling liquid droplets to be ejected from all nozzles 26 without staining the beam parts 46.
