PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formed filter having excellent collection property of dust particles and excellent gas permeability, and a method for manufacturing the formed filter for dust collection in which the density on the outer surface side of a cylindrical filter is higher than the density on the inner surface side, and the filter performance is constant in each part of the cylinder. SOLUTION: The formed filter 1 for dust collection has a dense surface pore structure 21 to prevent passage of dust particles, and a coarse internal pore structure 22 to ensure permeability. The manufacturing method for the formed filter 1 comprises a forming step of forming a bottomed cylinder by sucking slurry and depositing solid contents in the slurry on a formwork while bringing the slurry containing inorganic fibers and an inorganic binder into contact with the hollow formwork, and a drying step of drying the cylinder while liquid content is evaporated from an outer surface of the cylinder by uniformly blowing warm air against the outer surface of the cylinder after the cylinder is separated from the formwork.
