PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid opening and closing device suppressing the height of the lid at the time of opening the same not increasing operations and easily operated when the lid is closed. SOLUTION: The device has the lid 20 covering the upper face of the rice cooker 10, an arm 18 whose one end is coupled to the rear end to the lid 20 via a leaf spring 19 and whose other end is turnably supported by the rice cooker 10, and a kick spring 23 biasing the arm 18 so as to turn it rearward, the turning center of the arm 18 is located below the upper face of the rice cooker 10, the lid is opened to an intermediate opening position by the leaf spring 19 then the lid 20 can be fully opened by turning the arm 18 by the kick spring 23 at the time of opening the lid 20, thereby the height of the lid is suppressed at the time of opening the lid 20, the lid 20 can be easily opened without increasing the operations.
