PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water/fat separated image with a plurality of coils and small quantity of calculation in a short processing period of time. SOLUTION: NMR signals from a subject are received parallel by a body coil and receiving coil in the sequence without phase difference between water and fat and calibration data are collected (Step Q1). The NMR signals from the subject are received parallel by the receiving coil in the sequence for discriminating water and fat by utilizing the phase difference between water and fat and main data of each coil are collected (Step Q2). Then, a composite image is generated based on the calibration data and the main data (Step Q3) and a water image and a fat image are generated from the composite image (Step Q4). In this way, as the water/fat separation process (Step Q4), which requires large quantity of arithmetic operation and long processing time, is executed not by coil but based on the composite image V, the quantity of arithmetic operation can be reduced and the processing time can be shortened.
