The invention relates to a sliding device (20) for a fifth wheel coupling (30), which comprises two guide rails (14) mounted on a vehicle in the longitudinal direction thereof and a slide (31) which can be displaced on the guide rails (14). A locking device (21) mounted on said slide can be brought into an open position and a locked position by means of an actuator (22). In order to improve handling of the sliding device, at least one locking sensor (S1) for detecting the locked position is provided. Said locking sensor (S1) is connected to a display device and/or to the vehicle electronics.
