In an extrusion to form a multi-chamber hollow profile, a semi-finished product is initially formed by extrusion from a tool, prior to being inserted within a surrounding form. The semi-finished extrusion is then subjected to high internal fluid pressure by insertion of a plug tool, and is then expanded to the shape of the surrounding form.
