Disclosed is a method for producing a sintered steel wherein a sintered steel is produced from a raw material for sintering which is composed of an iron ore A having a crystal water content of not less than 9.0 mass%, an iron ore B having a crystal water content less than 4.0 mass% and an iron ore C having a crystal water content of not less than 4.0 mass% and less than 9.0 mass% with a mixing ratio among the iron ore A, iron ore B and iron ore C being within the area defined by the points a, b, c, d and e in Fig. 1, preferably within the area defined by the points b, c, d, e, f and g in Fig. 2.
