PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion which is suitably usable for aqueous pigment-based ink capable of carrying out always stable discharge in the case of variation of driving conditions and long-term use as ink for inkjet recording, and ink for inkjet recording using the pigment dispersion.

SOLUTION: The pigment dispersion is prepared by dispersing a mixture containing a pigment and the pigment dispersion having fluidity at normal temperature. The ink for inkjet recording is prepared by adding at least one kind of additive selected from water, a water-soluble organic solvent, a surfactant and an antiseptic agent to the pigment dispersion.
