<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of performing printing by using an inexpensive external storage device owned by each user, and if possible, capable of performing printing without passing a network. <P>SOLUTION: In the printing system, a host device 20 is connected to a printer 1 and printing data prepared by the host device 20 are outputted to a sheet of paper by the printer 1.
