PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective group for 2'-hydroxy group introducible in the 2'-hydroxy group of ribonucleoside using an inexpensive introducing reagent, and eliminable under acidic conditions inert to the rearrangement of a phosphoric diester.

SOLUTION: A compound of general formula(I) is provided. In formula(I), R1and R2are each an alkoxy or the like; R3is H or the like; R4is H or the like; X is an oxygen atom or the like; and Y is a nucleic acid base which may have a protective group.
