<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of exits of a toll road at low cost to improve convenience of a user. <P>SOLUTION: In this toll collection system, a passage changeover device 28 and a roadside display device 24 are provided in a branch point of an outflow passage 2 for making a vehicle 7 exit from a service area (SA) of the toll road to a general road 1 and a return passage 3 for returning to the service area (SA) from the outflow passage 2, and a wireless collection device 10 and an on-vehicle device 6 of the vehicle 7 trying to exit to the general road 1 through the outflow passage 2 perform wireless communication to collect toll before the branch point. When a process is normally completed as a toll collection result, a lane controller 20 makes the passage changeover device 28 close the return passage 3, and makes the roadside display device 24 display a message for permitting an outflow to the general road. When the toll collection is not normally completed, the lane controller 20 makes the passage changeover device 28 close the outflow passage to the general road, and makes the roadside display device 24 display a message of the effect that the exit is impossible because of abnormality of the wireless collection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
