PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a preform having a three-dimensional shape automatically, exactly, and efficiently. SOLUTION: The preform producing method includes a putting-out process (A) for winding off a substrate from a state in which reinforcing fiber stripes are roll-wound, a cutting process (B) in which the stripes are cut at prescribed intervals in the direction having a prescribed dislocation angle to the longitudinal direction of the reinforcing fibers to form parallelogammic reinforcing fiber substrates, a lamination process (C) in which a sheet-like laminate 10 continuous in the longitudinal direction is formed so that the stripes are parallel to each other in each layer and dislocated at every prescribed angle between layers, a bonding process (D) in which the laminate of the reinforcing fiber substrate is heated to soften a resin material to bond the reinforcing fiber substrates partially to each other by applying pressure, and a forming process (E) in which the bonded laminate in the processes (E) and (D) is deformed along a prescribed mold and heated/pressurized while being deformed to form the bonded laminate in the shape of the mold.
