PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for sulfurizing a hydrotreatment catalyst, particularly, a sulfurization-resistant oxide of the hydrotreatment catalyst, the hydrotreatment catalyst sulfurized by the process and use of the hydrotreatment catalyst sulfurized by the process when a hydrocarbon supply raw material is hydro-refined and/or hydro-converted/hydrocracked. SOLUTION: The process for sulfurizing the hydrotreatment catalyst includes a step of sulfurizing the hydrotreatment catalyst in an atmosphere containing hydrogen sulfide (H<SB>2</SB>S) and hydrogen (H<SB>2</SB>), wherein the molar ratio of H<SB>2</SB>S/H<SB>2</SB>exceeds 4 and the partial pressure of H<SB>2</SB>S is 1 kPa at the least.
