PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of image quality in joints of printed images, while making carried quantity constant. SOLUTION: This printing system comprises (A) a carrying unit for carrying a medium in a carrying direction, (B) a carriage for moving a plurality of nozzles arranged in the carrying direction in a moving direction and (C) a controller which alternately repeats a forming operation for forming an image on a printing medium by allowing an ink to be discharged from the plurality of moving nozzles and a carrying operation for carrying the medium to the carrying unit in a given carrying quantity, which, when there is a space in an image to be printed by some forming operation in the moving direction, prints the image to be printed on the downstream side further than the space by the forming operation in the carrying direction, carries the print medium in the given carrying quantity, and prints the image to be printed on the downstream side further than the space in the carrying direction by the following forming operation.
