The method involves comparing the control parameter (P2) with reference data (P2Soll), which results in increment or decrement of counter value (cntErrP). On second comparison, the counter value is compared with counter threshold value (cntErrPMax) and if threshold value is surpassed, an error signal (Err) is generated.
