The attachment has two opposite die stocks (3, 4) to enable the introduction of work pieces in an open position. The stocks are connected with levers (10, 11) and swivellable together by the pressing of the levers. The die stocks swivels about a common rotation axis (9), which is formed between the die stocks and the levers. The die stocks are pre-stressed in the closed position, by a spring. An independent claim is also included for a method of pressing tubular work pieces by utilizing an attachment.
