<p>An improved handcuff is constructed of a handcuff assembly that includes a pair of spaced lock assemblies (12) each carrying a clasp (11) for securing the lock assemblies (12) together. A handle cover assembly (10) is mounted about the connector (14) and the lock assemblies (12) to provide a rigid non-movable connection between the lock assemblies (12). The cover (10) includes a pair of plate members (17) mounted to the connector (14) and lock assemblies (12) to sandwich the connector (14) and lock assemblies (12) therebetween. The cover (10) also includes a pair of oppositely disposed elongate rigid channel members (22, 23) each having a body including an outer surface and an interior space for enclosing the pair of plate members (17) therein. Securing attachments (24) are included for securing the members (17, 22, 23) together. The another elongate edges of each channel member (22, 23) are mounted in an abutting relationship with the plate members (17) being enclosed in the interior spaces.
