<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a transfer material from being soiled by a non-active photoreceptor drum for a certain color in an image forming part, in the case of printing with a single color or a specified color according to user's demand. <P>SOLUTION: Individual up-down mechanisms 44 individually corresponding to respective image forming parts 17 to 20 is set, and the image forming part wherein color toner which is not used at printing is stored is moved upward by the elliptic cam 45 of the individual up-down mechanism 44 corresponding to the image forming parts, and the image forming part is kept in a non-image forming position where the photoreceptor drum 21 is separated from a transfer belt 14 at a prescribed distance. Besides, the rotary drive and voltage application with respect to the image forming part in the non-image forming position, a transfer roller 25 and a recording head 23 corresponding to the image forming part are stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
