PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for data control in a plasma display panel that reduces power consumption and heat generation in a data driving circuit. SOLUTION: The plasma display apparatus comprises a scan driver for scanning the scan electrodes; a data driver for supplying a data signal corresponding to a scan sequence to data electrodes; and a controller for controlling the scan driver and the data driver, the controller controlling the scan driver in order to perform a first scan for sequentially scanning odd numbered scan electrodes and a second scan for sequentially scanning even numbered scan electrodes, when a data pattern of input data includes a data pattern which repeats a logical inversion by sub pixels in a column direction and a row direction.
