PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine which can combine fuel efficiency performance and exhaust cleaning performance more effectively. SOLUTION: An electronic control device performs the operation of an engine while switching between a first operation mode and a second operation mode and maintaining the operation of all the cylinders 1 to 6. The first operation mode makes a rate of sharing of output among cylinders of either of the cylinder groups small as compared to a rate of sharing of output among cylinders of the other cylinder groups.
