PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy foam which can be substituted for an impact-energy absorption member made from a high-tensile-strength steel plate. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy foam is made by foaming an aluminum alloy comprising 1.0-20.0% Zn, 0.1-5.0% Ca, 0.1-5.0% Ti, 0.1-5.0% Mg, and the balance aluminum with unavoidable impurities; contains foams having an average diameter controlled to 5 mm or smaller, relative density controlled to 0.1 or more, and a standard deviation, which is an index showing the uniformity of foam sizes, controlled to 2.0 mm or smaller, when having measured the foam sizes by making high brightness X-rays pass through the form; and has a plateau stress of the aluminum alloy foam controlled to 4 MPa or higher.
