The invention aims at providing nucleoside analogues enabling the production of oligonucleotide analogues excellent in both chemical and biological stability and duplex formation, and oligonucleotide analogues containing the nucleoside analogues. The aim is attained by nucleoside analogues represented by the general formula (I) or salts thereof wherein R¹ is a member selected from the group consisting of groups represented by formulae (1) to (8) and groups derived therefrom by protecting a functional group; and k, l, m and n are each independently an integer of 1 to 10.
