The axially slotted blanket cylinder (1) carries a blanket unit (32) fastened to a flexible metal plate (2) having two bent-off legs (8,9) which fit within the slot. A pivotable spindle (16) supports pressure noses (18) which can be turned, together with spindle, in an anti-clockwise direction, so that they act radially outwards to press the bent-off legs against one wall of the slot. - By rotating the spindle clockwise, leaf springs (27) act against the ends of the legs to push them from the slot.
