Bristles (3) arranged in rows project beyond the curler body (2) connected to a handle (1). These bristles (3) extend outwards through apertures (4) from the inside of the curler body (2). Attached to the handle (1) is a clamp (6) which can be lifted from the curler body (2) counter to the force of a spring about an axle (7). The clamp (6) has two parallel limbs which extend in the longitudinal direction of the curler body (2) and each of which engages between two adjacent rows of bristles. By means of these clamping limbs, the hair is pulled into the bristles (3) and is thus held satisfactorily. <IMAGE>
