摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mountability of an engine on a vehicle and to increase the control speed of valve timing by reducing the axial exclusive occupying space of an installation angle adjusting mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: Three sliding grooves 11a, 11b, 11c are formed along the radial direction in one end face of a timing sprocket 2, and the respective guide balls 21 of three movable operating members 14 are slidably engaged with the sliding grooves. The respective movable operating members 14 are connected to a cam shaft 1 through a link arm 15 and a lever member 12. The respective first guide balls 20 of the movable operating members are respectively engaged with three spiral guide grooves 30 having a predetermined curvature formed on the inner end face of a guide plate 23, and the movable operating members are displaced in the radial direction by rotation of the guide plate 23.
