<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of correcting the gradation of images whose gradation number differs from each other with a comparatively simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus divides a luminance value of each pixel of an input image by a maximum luminance of the input image (normalizing section 7), and the divided luminance value is corrected by a tone curve (tone curve correction arithmetic section 8). Thus, the image processing apparatus can apply gradation correction to images whose gradation number differs from each other with a comparatively simple apparatus configuration in comparison with a method wherein a plurality of image processing apparatuses are provided, which respectively correspond to kinds and forms of image data, and each of a plurality of the image processing apparatuses carries out gradation correction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
