<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which can more simply and properly select the luminance range of image data to be used and obtains a desired image in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device comprises a designated coordinates reception 303 which receives the coordinates specified by an operator on the image displayed on a display; a brightness information extractor 305 which acquires brightness information regarding the brightness of the image displayed on a predetermined region including in this coordinates; an arithmetic unit 307 which converts the image data made of the large dynamic range of the brightness into the small dynamic range of the brightness for displaying the image, based on the extracted brightness information as a reference; and an image data converter 309. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
