PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application program management apparatus capable of adding an application program to an apparatus for which security setting management is strictly conducted, without updating a security policy database. SOLUTION: In the security policy database 14, several kinds of security domains to which the application program 2 to be added belongs are previously defined, a specific installation directory is assigned for each kind of the security domain, and a rule is described which is applied to every application program existing in each installation directory and its subordinate directory. An application program installer 11 discriminates a security domain to which the application program 2 to be added belongs, and installs the application in the subordinate directory of an installation directory assigned to the security domain.
