PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reproducing colors of an image exceeding an actual representing range. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 has a plurality of image forming units corresponding to each color of YMCK, a fifth image forming unit 14T having a transparent (T) color material, and a sixth image forming unit 14X corresponding deep black (X) of concentration more than black (K). An analyzing unit 202 analyzes a reflection rate of each of pixel values of image data (RGB). A color space converting unit 204 converts the image data (RGB) into image data (YMCK) of a color system corresponding to printing processing. When reproducing the image of a reflection rate of 100% or more, an image forming control unit 206 controls the unit 14T to form an image, and when reproducing the image of a reflection rate of 0% or low, the unit 206 controls the unit 14X to form an image, on the basis of a result of analysis at the analyzing unit 202.
