PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation structure of a construction excellent in economical efficiency and workability capable of ensuring predetermined bearing capacity for supporting the construction and, at the same time, suppressing or decreasing differential settlement in the ground having a surface layer of a soft ground. SOLUTION: In the foundation structure 1 of a building 5 constituted of an independent footing 2, a settlement prevention pile 3 constructed to the lower part of the independent footing 2 and columnar ground improvement bodies 4, to one settlement prevention piles 3 at least two columnar ground improvement bodies 4 are arranged to positions opposed to each other at an interval by holding the settlement prevention pile 3.
