PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact spike capable of being easily attached to a tire and a sole of a shoe, allowing easy attaching, detaching, and replacement, and reducing its weight and having high slip prevention effect. SOLUTION: This flare type spike 1 provided with a recessed part 3 in a tread 7 of the tire or on the sole of the shoe, made of a material having excellent flexibility and restoration property, and having a plurality of claws (spikes) radially is fixed to a holder 4 through a bolt 5 and a spring washer 6, and a tip of the claw protrudes slightly. Although this flare type spike is stored in the recessed part on ice when slip does not occur, the tip of the spike 1 bites the ice in the direction of sliding when it starts sliding to suppress slip.
