<p>The present invention relates to a stowable member such as a table (12) for a vehicle, particularly a passenger aircraft. According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a stowable table (12) for a vehicle, particularly a passenger aircraft, said stowable table (12) comprising: a mounting frame (30) adapted to be fixedly secured to a supporting structure and having a generally vertical orientation when secured to the supporting structure; table-top means comprising a table-top member (19) having a planar surface; connecting means for connecting said table-top means to said mounting means, said connecting means comprising guiding means which are adapted to allow the table-top means to slide substantially vertically with respect to the mounting means when travelling between a first lower stowed position and a second upper deployed position, and to allow said table-top member (19) to rotate downwardly about a substantially horizontal axis between an upright deployment orientation, and a substantially horizontal cantilevered deployed orientation when in the deployed position.</p> |
