<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving force transmission mechanism capable of maintaining aligning accuracy, irrespective of the degree of engagement backlash between a recessed member and a projecting member by keeping the supported state of a photoreceptor drum being a driven system stable even when the contact of the recessed member with the projecting member is failed due to the rapid rotation of the driven system caused by another force given by a system other than a driving system. <P>SOLUTION: The driving force transmission mechanism comprises a 1st coupling part which rotates in reply to the drive of a driving source 11, a 2nd coupling part which is attached to the image carrier 80 and rotates integrally with the image carrier 80, a shaft part 130 arranged to one of the coupling parts so as to project in the coupling direction, and an engagement hole 19 arranged in the other coupling member so as to fit the shaft part 130 therein. One of the coupling parts is a polygonal projection 10, and the other is a twisted hole 50 which is larger than the cross section of the one coupling part.
