PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate limitations associated with animal models in current use.
SOLUTION: It is possible that a methodology of percutaneously accessing the central artery of a rabbit ear is used for seeking the pathology of its damage and the safety of a therapy therefor and efficacy of the therapy through producing the damage to the artery, treating the damage and assessing the damage. The central artery of rabbit ear resembles the configuration of human coronary artery; therefore, by studying the central artery of rabbit ear, beneficial information on biology can be obtained, and new therapies for reconstriction, atherosclerosis and plaque susceptible to damage are expected to be specified.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
