<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing problems of data source protection and data source recovery. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises diagnosing a copy of data positioned at a storage location and diagnosing a temporary version of the copy of the data. Based on the diagnosis, it is determined whether or not an error or alert has been detected.
