PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cordless telephone set capable of restricting ring tone of a call from any one of a master set and the cordless speaking set corresponding to the positional relation between the master set and the cordless speaking set, even in a state where incoming calls from both the master set and the cordless speaking set ring. SOLUTION: The cordless telephone set comprises the master set connected to a telephone line L, and the cordless speaking set having a function of performing radio communication with the master set and detachably placed on the master set. The telephone set further comprises a speaker 14 provided on both the master set and the cordless speaking set, and ringing when an incoming call arrives from the telephone line L; a detecting unit 17 for detecting that the cordless speaking set is placed on the master set; and a control circuit 11 for stopping ringing of the incoming call from the speaker 14 from any one of the master set and the cordless speaking set, in a state where the detecting unit 17 is detecting that the cordless speaking set is placed.
