PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 6-speed power train presenting stable durability with a small number of frictional elements. SOLUTION: The 6-speed power train of this automatic transmission includes: a first planetary gear set having a first sun gear, a first ring gear and a first planetary carrier as actuating elements; a second planetary gear set having a second sun gear, a second ring gear and a second planetary carrier as actuating elements; a third planetary gear set having a third sun gear, a third ring gear and a third planetary gear as actuating elements; a fourth planetary gear set having a fourth sun gear, a fourth ring gear and a fourth planetary carrier as actuating elements; an input shaft; an output gear; and a transmission case, wherein one or more of fixed and connected first planetary carrier and the fourth planetary carrier are connected to the transmission case through a first brake to be variably stopped, and the second sun gear is connected to the transmission case through a second brake to be variably stopped.
