PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide valve capable of being constituted by a simple method and completely closed only by linear movement of a valve plate. SOLUTION: When the valve is closed, slide space members 32 are acted as sliding bearings of the valve plate 4 to a valve housing 1 until the valve plate 4 reaches a closing position along a final state of a moving passage, and the slide space members 32 are slid on an inner face of a front wall face 10. At the closing position of the valve plate 4, the slide space members 32 keep the valve plate 4 at a distance from the valve housing 1 during a time when the valve plate 4 is kept into contact with the front wall face 10. Thus the compression of a seal ring 8 in the closing state of the valve plate 4 is controlled. The slide space members 32 are substantially rigid in the vertical direction to a face of the valve plate 4, and the deformation in closing of the valve plate 4 is smaller than an approximate distance d in comparison with a state free from deformation.
