PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clincher mechanism capable of smoothly conveying bound paper and preventing the deviation of the bound paper after bound together. SOLUTION: The clincher mechanism 7 is composed of a clincher member 10 formed with a guide face 11 for guiding staple legs to bend; a thin plate-like piece 12 disposed between the guide face 11 and the bound paper; and an operating piece 18 for operating the thin plate-like piece 12 to advance/retreat on the guide face 11 of the clincher member 10. The staple legs passing through the bound paper are guided along the lower face of the thin plate-like piece 12, and the thin plate-like piece 12 is operated to slip out of a space between the staple legs by the operation of the operating piece 18. A paper pan 26 for guiding the bound paper is arranged in a swingable manner above the clincher mechanism 7, and the operating piece 18 is operated through the paper pan 26 swingingly operated by the operation of a staple driving part 2.
