PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lightly perform operation of an auxiliary operation member in a reel for fishing designed to perform auxiliary winding of a fishing line on a spool with the auxiliary operation member. SOLUTION: The reel for fishing is composed so as to wind the fishing line on the spool 7 provided in the reel body 1 by rotating operation of a handle 5 installed in a lateral part of the reel body. The auxiliary operation member 40 for winding the fishing line designed to perform auxiliary winding of the fishing line on the spool 7 is arranged in a position for performing the operation with fingers of a hand holding a fishing rod. The reel for fishing is characterized in that a blocking mechanism 70 for blocking the rotation of the handle 5 in the direction to wind the fishing line when the auxiliary winding operation of the fishing line is performed with the auxiliary operation member 40 is installed.
