Disclosed is a valve comprising a housing ( 5 ) with a valve seat ( 4 ) for a two-piece flap ( 2 ) which is rotatably mounted on a drive shaft ( 1 ). An annular piston seal ( 3 ) and an adjacent cover disk ( 6 ) are disposed between the first part ( 2 a) and the second part ( 2 b) of the two-piece flap ( 2 ) so as to revolve therearound. The diameter of the cover disk ( 6 ) is smaller than the diameter of the annular piston seal ( 3 ) which is embodied as a metal ring that is provided with a gap ( 3 '). The invention also relates to the use of said valve as a gas recirculation valve.
