Drying sieve belts (2, 3) pass between pairs of drying cylinders (4) in corresponding series (11, 12) of drying cylinders, via a guide unit (5). This has guide strips (6) in return regions of the drying sieves, orientated across the sieve running direction (10). These fixed guides strips are made of wear-resistant material, preferably ceramic. They may be implemented as rotary rollers. Guide units (5) are located between all drying cylinders of a series (11, 12). Both series of rollers have guides units (5). The guide units have suction- and/or blowing zones (8, 9) opposite the fibrous web (1). The guide unit has suction and/or blowing zones (8,9) opposite the transfer strips for the fibrous web, preferably limited to their width. There is at least one suction zone (9) in the guidance region of the fibrous web, or that of the transfer strips. There is at least one blowing zone (8) in the offtake region of the fibrous web or the transfer strip on the other drying sieve belt (2, 3).
