<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital image forming apparatus having a several-surface transfer function which can restrain toner consumption when paper is used up. <P>SOLUTION: The digital image forming apparatus is equipped with an image forming means for forming a toner image on a transfer medium by writing an image on the transfer medium and developing the written image with toner, an intermediate transfer medium to which the toner image formed on the transfer medium is transferred further and which carries a plurality of surfaces of the transferred image, a paper supply means for supplying transfer paper, and a control means for controlling each of the means to supply the transfer paper to the transfer position of the intermediate transfer medium and form the image on the transfer paper. The apparatus is further equipped with a storage means for storing inputted image data by an amount equivalent to at least one surface, and a storage control means for controlling the storage means. In the case of using up the transfer paper to which the images of the second and succeeding surfaces are transferred when the image is formed in a mode in which the number of surfaces formed on the intermediate transfer body is set to several, the storage control means stops access to the storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
