PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for synchronizing the operations of a plurality of devices by a message via a communication network. SOLUTION: The devices included in a system provided herein are coupled with each other so that they can communicate via the communication network, and the local clocks of the devices are highly accurately synchronized by utilizing IEEE 1588, NTP or another technique. Each of the device includes an event manager. This event manager can operate so as to receive a message including information for discriminating an event and a time stamp, from another of the devices. Also, the event manager can operate to determine whether or not the operation by a responding device should be triggered in response to the event discriminated by the received message, and if it determines that the operation should be triggered, the operation is triggered on the basis of the time stamp included in the received message.
