PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing power with a simple technique which is not accompanied with change of processing, in monitoring with no recording. SOLUTION: In order to solve the problem, at least a recording mode and a monitoring mode during which recording is not performed, are set and a clock stop means is set for stopping or operating a clock supplied by a video processing portion of the imaging apparatus for the unit of a color separation cycle of an imaging device in accordance with the mode.
