PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of necessity of logical format process for a DVD media because of a difference in format when new AV data are additionally written in a DVD-VR format to the DVD media, in which AV data are recorded in DVD-Video format. SOLUTION: Out of DVD-Video format and DVD-VR format, the larger sum of the data size of volume structure, file structure, and management information is reserved in a disk. During video-recording of a program in DVD-Video format, VOBU information and real time data information are recorded. At the time of change of format, the volume structure, file structure, and management information in the DVD-VR format are recorded in the reserved data region.
