PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Internet facsimile communication system and method capable of confirming reception by performing output completion notification in an emergency mode, and to provide a program therefor. SOLUTION: A mail preparing part 202 allocates a fact being emergency communication to a header part of an Internet fax using e-mail technology, the Internet fax is transmitted to a sender through a transmission control part 203, and the transmission control part 203 simultaneously monitors the reception of output completion notification from the sender who has transmitted the Internet fax being the emergency communication. In the receiving side, an output control part 213 confirms the normal end of the reception and the normal output of the Internet fax, and an output completion notification preparing part 215 prepares output completion notification and transmits the output completion notification to the transmitting side. When the output completion notification is not received within a fixed period of time, a transmitting side alternate communication part 205 outputs an instruction to a receiving side alternate communication part 217.
