PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-based metal oxide precursor being a high molecular weight body containing respective metals of strontium, bismuth and tantalum constituting an Sr-Bi-Ta-based oxide, and having high homogeneity, high solubility to an organic solvent, and excellent condensation stability and preservation stability, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The oxide precursor of the high molecular weight body is produced by bringing a complex compound(s) of Sr, Bi and Ta into reaction with alkanolamine to cause a cross-linking reaction between complex molecules through the hydroxy groups of the alkanolamine.
